Tomioka Silk Mill
Tomioka Silk Mill
◎Tomioka Silk Mill is a World Heritage Site, a National Treasure and a modern industrial heritage founded in Tomioka in 1872 (5th year of Meiji era) as Japan's first government operated model mechanized silk-reeling factory.
Don't miss late 19th century brick buildings such as the Silk-reeling Plant and East and West cocoon warehouses. Audioguides are also available.

Ichinomiya Nukisaki Shrine
Ichinomiya Nukisaki Shrine
◎It has a very unique structure with the main shrine located at a lower level than the approach road. Main shrine, outer shrine and two-storied gate were rebuilt in 1635 by the 3rd shogun Tokugawa Iemitsu while large-scale repair was undertaken by 5th shogun Tokugawa Yonekichi.
Main shrine, outer shrine and two-storied gate are National Important Cultural Properties.

Old Moteki Family House
Old Moteki Family House
◎A private house said to have been buit during the Warring States period in 1527. It is thought to be the oldest private house still standing in Japan.
It is a National Important Cultural Property.

Myogi Shrine
Myogi Shrine
◎Myogi Shrine is located on the mountainside of Mount Haku'un, Mt. Myogi's highest peak. Above the "Chinese-style gate" decorated with bright cinnabar red and the wonderfully decorated "outer gate", you may see the gorgeous main shrine coated with black lacquer and built in Toshogu Shrine style. It is a National Important Cultural Property.
